Being in the IA, I constantly get excited about the projects, and new assignments that we work on. Every day, I get home and I look for the room were I find my biggest fan, mentor and motivation.
This may sound extremely cheesy, but its my sister Rosa Maria.
Not only is she the best sister that the universe could have given me, but she is like a best friend to me. She has the biggest heart and the best personality. She is always willing to listen to me for hours talking about the IA and my ideas, that sometimes seem to big to handle and somehow manages to help me achieve them.
She keeps in mind, the topics that we discuss and every time she finds and article or video relevant she's doesn't hesitate to send them to me. She is even reading the same book as were are in class "Creative Confidence".
Aia ( I can't call her rosa maria, too serious) radiates talent and positivity. She graduated from NYU in 2011 were she studied studio art and did a double concentration on Photography and Painting. Her art work is of course exceptional. Most of my house is decorated by her beautiful pieces, which are constantly mistaken for well known photographers..
As if I couldn't be prouder, she is the owner of a very well known bikini brand, which is sold in Lima, New york and Panama. She combined her passion ( art) and enterpernuer skills and created a more than successful brand.
Seing my sister work is truly something that inspires me to figure out what my passion is and the importance of staying true to who you are. She treats every piece of art with such passion and takes such good care of even the smallest details making her work astonishing. Wether if it's by adding a finishing touch to her paintings, or analysing the designs for her bikinis, she loves whats she's doing and she wants it to be perfect. And it is.
Being in innovation academy, I have learned that being different and following what you really like not only brings you happiness but it also makes your work beautiful because you do it with passion. Being an artist is a very difficult career, but I have learned from the best sister that determination and passion brings results.
I hope that one day that someone will see my work with the admiration that I look at hers. If I am able to accomplish this, I will know that I have been able to do what I love with love and devotion .
