I realized how many times I had given up something out of frustration and the feeling of failure. Following the quote the author proceeds to explain how society has caused us to have a fixed mindset about the sense of failure. She uses the example of a supposed situation in which an individual goes to his favorite new class to receive his test back with a failed grade. Then he goes home and finds himself with a parking ticket. Wanting to vent he calls a friend which ends up "brushing him off". The immediate reaction for us now at days is : " My life is the worse", "I'm a failure" , "I don't do anything right" etc. When we should be thinking of solutions for our struggles. This really got me thinking and I could really connect with the passage because once I get frustrated and things haven't worked out for me I give up and I feel I have failed. I had never really considered that failure could be the magic ingredient for success. Once you know what your weak points are, you have to accept the challenge and strive to make them your forte.
