We have officially ended our second week in the Innovation Academy and I couldn't be more excited about this upcoming year.
Reflecting on our week, I notice how accomplished we have been. Not only did we start the week with our IA week presentations to an actual audience, but we started reading a new book along with our marketing unit, and we have started writing an article for The Break. As if that wasn't enough, we had time for our IBG ( interest based groups) were we could actually chose what to do. I, along with four other girls from 10th and my own grade have decided to start a panama business which I am really looking forward to do and be in charge of the marketing area.
I have never been happier to be in a program were I am able to actually enjoy what I am learning and have people who genuinely feel the same.
It has been hard having to deal with all the negativity from other people who sadly haven't gotten to experience the IA and think that we don't work as hard as the rest. At first it would really bother me to have those negative comments thrown around, but by the end of the week I couldn't help but smile when they were mentioned. I realise that those people are oblivious to the work we do, and just because they decide that we don't work, doesn't make it true.
I'm not only learning, but I am enjoying it something that I wasn't capable of doing in a long time.
