Since August we have been hard at work, finding the perfect designs, fabrics and seamstress to create our vision. Though it's been a very hard process it has been very fulfilling to see how our brand is coming to life. This week we are expected to have most of the pieces ready and we are all extremely excited to see how they turn out.
Having plans for a photo shoot, commercial and more coming in the following weeks we have to think ahead. Since the beginning we have been working on linking our brand to a GREATER cause. We want SIESTA sleepwear to have values, and have it have an influence in society.
The other day I stopped and started thinking, what we could do. This is how I realised what TOMS shoes does. They follow the "one for one" system, which means that for every pair of shoes you buy a kid in Africa gets a pair of shoes too.
I loved this ideas, but given that we don't have the biggest budget right now we were thinking that for every 3 pijamas that we sell we will give one kid a pair of cozy pijamas for the winter. In Puno, temperatures in the winter get very low and people are not prepared for it. This is sometimes the cause of many deaths, specially in young kids.
We were thinking of going back to Gamarra and buying "polar" fabric which is extremely warm and making them kids sized.
We don't know yet if we are going to execute this idea, but it's definitely an option. Do you have any suggestions to what we should do?
